Palomino and the Art Directors Club succeeded in making pencil history. With a line wrapped around the block, hundreds of enthusiastic artists, writers and musicians attended “The Party for the Pencil” on Tuesday, April 17th as part of the Blackwing Experience, a weeklong exhibit celebrating to the history and future of the iconic Blackwing pencil.
Guests, including The New Yorker’s Mary Norris, explored camera lucidas, helped rock band Mordus write the lyrics to their next song, and contributed to a collective drawing led by the Chuck Jones Center for Creativity among many other interactive activities.
